The Bose® VS-1 Lifestyle® Video Expander.
The VS-1 is designed exclusively for use with the Lifestyle® 48, 38, 28 Series II and 18 Series II DVD home entertainment systems. The VS-1 Lifestyle® Video Expander works with three video inputs while making the process simple by just switching sources to a “one button” task on the Lifestyle® system remote. Gone are the days of trying to figure out the difference between composite video, S-video and component video. The VS-1 converts all video signals up, automatically delivering the highest quality video the television can accept. The VS-1 also greatly simplifies the switching process by eliminating the need to repeatedly press the “video input” button to find the right picture for the right audio. Cable and satellite boxes, VCRs, video games, TiVo – just select the source and you’re done.

The VS-1 expander makes operation completely intuitive, with one-button access to each of your video sources – VCR, PVR, cable/satellite box or other video device.

Experience great video performance – the VS-1 expander can up-convert composite video to S-video and S-video to component, as well as pass through high-definition video.

Easy installation. All your video devices connect to your VS-1 expander and a single cable connects VS-1 expander to your TV. There’s no need to figure out which device to connect to which input on the TV.

Product Review: It can be wall mounted right behind the lifestyles unit. The expander only handles Video so you'll want it as close to the Lifestle unit as possible for bundled Video and Audio cables. I added a PS2, Video IPOD, and VCR to my set up w/ it. All work great.
